Professor James Lindsay

Professor Lindsay obtained his B.Sc (Honors) and Ph.D from The Australian National University. Previously he held research positions at the CSIRO Food Science Australia before joining the Faculty at the University of Florida. In 1998 he moved to the USDA- Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Office of National Programs where he coordinates the national/ international Food Safety Research Program, implementing/overseeing interdisciplinary food safety research for the Agency. His personal research has focussed on various aspects of microbial genetics and food safety, including the role of bacterial toxins in human diseases. Professor Lindsay is a Fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology; a member of the Editorial Board of Critical Reviews in Microbiology, and has chaired, or been a member of various national/international food safety advisory boards committees and review panels.
